Orland Park Man Charged with DUI after Head-on Crash in Palos Park

PALOS PARK, IL — An Orland Park man was charged with driving under the influence of drugs Thursday after a head-on crash in Palos Park.

Brian Fox, 35, was also charged with improper lane usage and failure to wear a seat belt following the accident in the 12300 block of Southwest Highway. The driver of the second vehicle—a 51-year-old Indiana man—is in serious condition at Palos Community Hospital.

Officers arrived at the scene around 5:47 p.m., to find one vehicle with extensive damage between the north- and southbound lanes, and one vehicle over the west curb and into the tree line.

Southwest Highway was closed for hours between 131st and Rte. 83 while authorities worked the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
