Additional Charges for 4 Accused in Palos Home Invasion

Four suspects now face an additional count of murder in the death of their accomplice.

Three women and a man accused in a botched home invasion that left a fifth suspect dead will face additional charges in the death of their accomplice.

Tyler Gulli, 23, of Portage, Ind.; Sarah Risner, 21, of Crown Point, Ind.; Paige Marshall, 20, of Hobart, Ind.; and her sister, Brandy Marshall, 19, of Crown Point, Ind. have each been indicted on three counts of murder, one count of attempted armed robbery, one count of home invasion and two counts of residential burglary. Each originally faced only one count of murder and home invasion in the incident, which took place July 5 in Palos Township.

Gulli arrived at the Bridgeview Courthouse in a wheelchair, still recovering from a gunshot wound delivered by the homeowner. Anthony Dalton, 19, of Cedar Lake, Ind., was fatally shot in the chest in the encounter. Correctional officers were transporting the women to the Bridgeview courtroom when their lawyers appeared on their behalf, the Daily Southtown reports.

The night has been described as a sex tryst turned home invasion gone horribly wrong. The homeowner thought he was going to pay for a night of sex with two young moms from Indiana at his home near Will-Cook Road and 118th Street, but the women instead schemed to bring along their friends and rob him. Things went awry when the Palos-area homeowner caught sight of a young man with a knife and began shooting.

The four are being charged in Dalton's death because it occurred during the commission of a crime, prosecutors said. Bail was set at $2 million each.
