Car Strikes Utility Pole in Palos Heights
Car broke the pole in half. Accident happened on 131st Street.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Police and ComEd are on the scene of an accident where a car struck a power pole Tuesday afternoon. The vehicle broke the pole in half and the car went into the drainage ditch.
The accident occurred on 131st Street, near the entrance to Oak Hills Condominiums. Power was out for a short time, but has since been restored, according to a notice from officials.
The 131st Street entrance will be out of service until at least 1 a.m. ComEd has to replace the pole and the wires.

The gates at 135th Street are open and will remain open until all of the service is replaced/restored. As of 4:30 p.m., Palos Heights police have traffic blocked on 131st Street, from 76th Avenue to 80th Avenue.
Palos Heights police will investigate the accident and tow the car.
