Crawfish and Shrimp Boil Benefit Planned For First Responders
Original Island Shrimp House will host an all-you-can-eat seafood boil fundraiser on Oct. 2 and Oct. 3 for first responders.

PALOS PARK, IL — Original Island Shrimp House, 12902 S. LaGrange Road, Palos Park, will be hosting an all-you-can-eat crawfish and shrimp boil this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2 and Oct. 3 for first responders. Proceeds go toward the Palos Park Police Foundation and the Axeman Motorcycle Club-Chicago Chapter for the Widow and Children’s Fund.
The benefit will have multiple seatings both evenings inside the restaurant and in an outdoor dining tent in observance of COVID-19 guidelines. Dinner comes with all the trimmings, including corn, potatoes, sausage and more. Tickets are $40 or two for $75. Call the restaurant at 708-923-6646 to reserve a spot and pay when you show up at Original Island Shrimp House.
Seatings are from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2 and Oct. 3. McDivot’s Sports Bar and Grill, adjacent to the restaurant, will be providing beer and wine.

More activities are planned for Saturday. From 10 a.m. to noon, kids can have pancakes with the police. Palos Park police and the Palos Fire Protection District will be dropping by with police and fire vehicles for photo ops with kids. Cost is $5.
NBC-5 Chicago weather forecaster Andy Avalos will be Saturday to emcee raffles for assorted prizes and split-the-pot. A car show will also be happening in the parking lot.

The Axemen Motorcycle Club-Chicago Chapter 1 comprises retired and active firefighters and auxiliary who share a love for motorcycles and the open road. The group raises money for burn camps and other agencies.
The Palos Park Police Foundation supports the Palos Park Police Department in funding police initiatives and programs that the village cannot easily fund, such as training, technology and strategies.
