'Deconstructing the Diva' Explores Iconic Women Singers At MVCC
Don't sit alone in your room. Come to Moraine Valley's cabaret series featuring songstress KT McCommand on March 24.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Don’t sit alone in your room, come out to the Moraine Valley Fine and Performing Arts Center’s cabaret series, old chum. Journey through the careers of iconic women in music at “Deconstructing the Diva” Sunday, March 24.
Performances will be at 2 and 5:30 p.m., inside the John and Angeline Oremus Theater in the Fine and Performing Arts Center. Tickets for seating at a table are $30, and $25 for seniors and students with ID. Theater seating tickets are $25 and $20 for seniors and students with ID.
Featuring KT McCammond with Beckie Menzie at the piano and Irwin Berkowitz on percussion, the show takes the audience through the evolution of the diva from opera to the Grammys, and through the musical signatures and colorful careers of the iconic women who helped define the diva: Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse, and more.

Chicago Tribune arts writer Howard Reich said McCammond is a “cabaret singer with plenty of voice and even more attitude and tends to fill any room with brass, sass and smarts.”
“Deconstructing the Diva” is part of the Sunday Salon Series, now in its sixth season of bringing cabaret-style performances to the college in an intimate setting to enjoy some of Chicago’s most talented and versatile performers.
