Fireworks Hijinx: Exploding Mailbox, Juvenile Mischief

Let the fireworks complaints begin. Palos Hills police respond to fireworks incidents.

PALOS HIILLS, IL — Palos Hills police responded to separate incidents involving illegal fireworks complaints, reports said.

Around 4 p.m. June 15, police received a call of juveniles lighting off fireworks in the 8500 block of 102nd Terrace. When officers arrived, they found two kids in possession of illegal fireworks. Police confiscated the stash and turned the kids over to their parents.

Officers investigated a complaint of property damage in the 10100 block of Eleanor Avenue, around 9 a.m. June 17, reports said. The homeowners told police that their house had been egged, and that someone set off fireworks inside their mailboxes.
