Fireworks Near Me: Palos 4th Of July 2021

PALOS, IL — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day. July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

We have all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Palos Heights, so you can start planning now. Don’t forget Palos Hills’ Friendship Fest coming up July 8 through July 11, featuring rides, games, food, music and fireworks. Palos Park’s big doings happen Sept. 17 and Sept. 18 at Autumn In The Park.

Here's what's in store this July 4 in Palos Heights:

July 3

What: Concert and fireworks

Where: Memorial Park, 7607 W College Drive, Palos Heights

When: Gates open at 5 p.m., band plays 7 to 9 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
A DJ will be spinning tunes until 7 p.m., when Soda, the Ultimate Human Jukebox, will take over the stage for a two-hour show playing classic rock and contemporary pop hits. Kids will be invited to play instruments with the band, join a conga line and show their dance moves in a crazy fun dance contest. At 9:15 p.m., get ready for an awesome fireworks show.

July 4

What: Palos Heights 4th of July Parade

Where: The July 4th parade step off from BMO Harris Bank at 126th Street and Harlem Avenue. The parade will travel north Harlem Avenue, to 119th Place. At the end of the parade, there will be a sensory friendly block starting at 120th Street on Harlem Avenue to Route 83. There will be no lights, sirens or music, so those with noise and light sensitivities can enjoy the parade too. Face masks and social distancing are encouraged.
