Gas Station And Food Purchases Made With Stolen Debit Card: Cops
Jonathan Guzman, 26, of Chicago charged with felony theft after the cardholder reported fradulent purchases, Palos Heights police said.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — A Chicago man is accused of stealing someone’s debit card and using it to make fraudulent purchases. Jonathan Guzman, 26, is charged with one count of felony theft.
Palos Heights police were initially forwarded a case from another police agency on June 11. The debit cardholder told police his card was used at a gas station in Worth, and then a purchase was made at a store in the 7200 block of College Drive.
According to a police news release, a man, later identified as Guzman, was captured on video surveillance using the debit card to make a purchase. After identifying a possible suspect, police said Guzman made a full confession during an interview.

Guzman was transferred June 18 to the Leighton Criminal Courts building for a bond hearing.
