Image Released of SUV Tied To Palos Heights Ruse Burglary: Cops
SUV tied to Palos Heights ruse burglary similar to vehicle spotted in other area ruse burglaries.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Palos Heights police have released an image of a dark-colored SUV tied to a ruse burglary that occurred Friday afternoon in the Navajo subdivision. A similar vehicle was described in a pair of ruse burglaries in Oak Lawn last month.
Around 3:40 p.m. March 5, the husband and wife, who are elderly, were both home when two men came to the front door. The men announced that they needed to check the water and entered the house. Police said one of the men walked to the kitchen to “check the water” while the other went upstairs.

The homeowners followed the first man into the kitchen, but quickly noticed the other man wasn’t around and saw him at the top of the stairs. The couple yelled at the men to get out of the house. Police said both men fled and got into the SUV captured on home security video.

Both men were described as being possibly Hispanic. The first man was tall, and wore a long-sleeved black shirt, gray face mask and gloves. The second man was shorter, and wore dark pants and gloves.
