
Joseph J. Kosiak, 74, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2021. Loving husband and best friend to Mary (nee O’Reilly). Beloved father to Jennifer, Michael (Laura), and Karen. Proud and doting Papa to Andrej and Colin. Brother of Michael (Carol) and Mary Ann. Preceded in death by parents Michael & Emma (nee Gedmin) Kosiak. Friend and brother-in-law of Eileen & Mike Tyrrell, Maureen & Larry Palmer, and Tom & Nanci O’Reilly. Uncle to Christine (Mark) Magdzriarz, Brian (Kelly) Tyrrell, Kathy (Mike) Kruse, Tim (Julie) Palmer, Kevin (Kelly) Palmer, John Palmer, Tim (Andrea) O’Reilly, Sean O’Reilly, and Carrie Ann Kosiak. Joe was a graduate of St. Rita H.S. (64) where he played on the football National Championship team. He earned a scholarship to Drake University (69), where he won the honor of being named Lineman of the Decade. Then, he earned a Master's Degree at Loyola University (73). Joe took great pride in being a teacher and coach for the Chicago Public School System for 38 years. His kindness and laughter will be missed by both family and friends.
Memorial visitation Monday, May 24th from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m.
Funeral procession gathering Tuesday, May 25th will be at 10 a.m. at the KERRY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CARE CENTER, 7020 W 127th Street, Palos Heights.
