Local science teachers also to participate in Nov. 2 discussion about the development of nature trails.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Lake Katherine and the Palos Heights Library have joined together to bring a new book panel discussion ‘Nature By The Books’ to the south suburbs.

On Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 6:30 p.m. a panel including Lake Katherine’s Operations Manager Gareth Blakesley will discuss Robert Moor’s new book On Trails: An Exploration at the library.

“This book is a great exploration of natural themes and trails and where they lead us,” said Blakesley. “It is a great opportunity to share an enlightening read with the public and look at how literature can connect us with nature.”

Library Director Jesse Blazek said working with Lake Katherine to bring this type of program to the community was a perfect fit.

“Many great American writers come from a background of nature-based writing and this program will highlight how this genre of nature writing continues to thrive today," Blazek said.
