Lock Up and Speak Up: Palos Heights Police Urge Caution after Burglaries in Suburbs
Daytime burglaries in south suburbs prompt police to warn residents to be careful.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Recently the south suburbs and surrounding areas have experienced several residential burglaries. Palos Heights Police wish to remind all residents to remain vigilant in protecting their homes and property. Residents are urged to call police and report suspicious people and activity in the area.
With summer weather here, residents are encouraged to secure all doors and windows when not home. Although residents should remain alert at all times, several of the reported burglaries have occurred in the morning and daytime hours, some occurring while residents were only gone for short periods of time.
Palos Heights Police suggest that residents take steps, such as locking windows and doors, putting lights on, removing mail/newspapers, and taking other steps to make homes appear occupied. Keep valuables, such as cash and jewelry, out of sight and secure within the home.
