Man Flashes Rifle, Threatens Brother and Cops after Argument: Cops

The incident took place Tuesday evening in Palos Heights.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — An argument between brothers ended with a rifle drawn and one in cuffs Tuesday evening, Palos Heights police said Thursday.

Robert Milcarek, 45, of the 6200 block of W. Washington Street in Chicago Ridge, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault against a peace officer and one count of unlawful use of a weapon, after police were called to the scene of a domestic situation in the 12700 block of Oak Park Avenue in Palos Heights.

An argument between Milcarek and his brother had escalated over two days, police said, resulting in Milcarek fetching a rifle and showing up at his brother's home.

When police arrived, he then pointed it at officers, who verbally commanded he drop the weapon, and Milcarek complied. He was taken into police custody. No one was injured in the incident.

Bond was set at $150,000. His next court date is set for July 13 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
