Mary Margaret Modesitt (nee Bresnahan) age 95, died on Friday, April 9, 2021 after a brief illness. She was an active resident at Smith Village Assisted Living and served on their resident board. She was born Mary Margaret Bresnahan on February 28, 1926 in Chicago. Mary and her two sisters, Dorothy Lucille (preceded) and Elizabeth June called themselves The Golden Triangle and remained close across time and distance. She married Bill Wayne Modesitt (preceded) on March 30, 1949 in Champaign, Illinois. They were married for over 50 years and raised four children together, Linda (Todd) Melville, Thom (Rose) Modesitt, Tim (Sandy) Modesitt, and John (Patty) Modesitt. She was grandmother to nine and great grandmother to eleven with another on the way. Mary was a lifelong resident of the Chicago area known for her devotion to family and friends, her sewing, her community activities, and her gingerbread houses. She leaves many cherished memories with those whose lives she touched.
