No Injuries in Harlem Avenue Storefront Fire

The fire broke out at Paradise Fashions at 11142 S. Harlem Avenue.

A fire contained to one storefront on Harlem Avenue was quickly put out by firefighters Friday afternoon. 

The fire broke out at 12:15 p.m. in the storefront at 11142 S. Harlem Avenue in Worth. A discount clothing store called Paradise Fashions currently occupies the space. 

The fire was fully extinguished about 25 minutes after firefighters arrived on the scene, according to North Palos Battalion Chief Paul Mackin.

There were no injuries and no one was inside of the store when the fire was burning, Mackin said. The fire was contained to the clothing store. 

North Palos, Palos Heights, Chicago Ridge and Roberts Park fire districts responded to the blaze as part of the normal mutual aid agreement.  

Investigators are currently determining the cause of the blaze.
