Northwestern College & Chamber partner to present workshop
25 Bridgeview Chamber members attended lunch workshop at College, "How to network like your business depends on it," hosted by the Chamber.
Northwestern College and the Bridgeview Chamber of Commerce & Industry partnered this month to present a lunch-time workshop on networking to members of the Chamber. The one hour event on Tuesday, March 26, “How to network like your business depends on it,” was offered by the Chamber and hosted by the College in its auditorium (7725 S. Harlem Avenue).
The workshop featured seasoned networker Lynn Lionhood and was offered free of charge to Bridgeview Chamber members; it also included a light lunch. Lionhood instructed the nearly twenty five (25) attendees on ways to go about networking in order to make long-lasting connections, hopefully helping to build stronger, more profitable businesses. During part of her presentation she explained that success in business is all about relationships, making networking a crucial asset. However she also cautioned that bigger networks do not necessarily equate to better networks. Investing time and developing relationships with those you network with, cultivating those relationships, she explained, makes networking much more valuable to businesses.
For the past year the Bridgeview Chamber has focused on its initiative to build value on their memberships. Towards that end, they have been hosting monthly “Lunch & Learn” workshops at Northwestern College on a variety of business oriented topics. The College, a long-time member of the Chamber, continues to offer use of its facilities for various events and trainings in order to assist local businesses, law enforcement, and the community at large.
