Palos Back to School Guide 2018

Back to school season is just around the corner... check out Palos Patch's Back to School Guide 2018 for everything you need to know.

PALOS, IL -- Believe it or not, summer break is already coming to an end! Here are some important details you'll need to know before classes resume later this month:

  • Local school supply lists can be found on your school's website and at some retailers like Walmart and Target.
  • District 118's annual Back to School Picnic will take place from 5-7 PM at Palos South on August 20th.
  • Watch your speed! It's very important to drive carefully around young students waiting for the school bus, riding their bikes, and walking.

District 128 will be conducting a screening for all children residing within district boundaries who are three to five years of age on August 22nd.

  • You're required by law to stop for a loading or unloading school bus with its flashers on. That law applies to all locations- streets, parking lots, highways, and private roads. The only instance where you aren't required to stop is on a four-lane highway when you're headed in the opposite direction.

Here's a list of area schools and their first days...
