Palos Heights Rec Center Adjusts Programs To Tier 3 Mitigations
Palos Heights Recreation Center will be making changes to programs to comply with COVID-19 mitigations. See what's changed.
PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — The Palos Heights Parks and Recreation, 6601 W 127TH St. is making adjustments to operations as Tier 3 mitigations are now in effect to curb the spread of coronavirus. These mitigations will require some changes, postponements and cancellations to services and programs.
The fitness center will remain open to members and track pass holders. The following changes will be made to keep operations in line with Tier 3 mitigations.
- Reservations will continue to be mandatory for use of the fitness center and track. No walk-in use allowed by members and track users. Reservation may be made online or over the phone before arriving at the fitness. Patrons will be turned away without a reservation.
- Face masks must be worn at all times, including while engaged while using equipment and during workouts, regardless of person or machine spacing.
- Programs currently in progress will be moved to virtual classes. This includes Miss Angie’s Music Class, Master Chef Jr, Music Lessons, Dance, and Group Fitness Classes. All participants that are currently registered for these classes have been emailed the Zoom links.
- Youth Athletic classes will resume outdoors for the remainder of the session.
- Indoor Soccer League has been postponed until further notice.
- The Farmers Market set for Dec. 5 has been postponed through early 2021.
- Remaining special events scheduled for 2020 will be held outdoors following the new mitigation plan.
