PALOS PARK, IL -- There’s something for everyone this weekend at the Palos Park Art Festival (formerly ‘Love the Park’ Fine Arts Fair) on the Village Green, 8901 W. 123rd St. Now in its second year, the festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19.

Over 50 artists will exhibit their work, along with music and children’s activities. The Village of Palos Park has long been a haven for the fine arts. The natural beauty and simple rhythm of life in Palos Park appeals to artists and writers seeking inspiration and solitude for their work.

Palos Park is considered by many, past and present, as an artists’ colony where the creative can be surrounded in peace and natural beauty. Painters Claude Buck, Emile Grumieaux, Felix Russmann, renowned sculptor Lorado Taft, and writers Sherwood Anderson and a young Ernest Hemingway enjoyed the serene landscape here.
