Palos Park Police Heighten St. Patrick's Day DUI Patrols
If you've had one too many green beers celebrating St. Patrick's Day, call Palos Park police for a ride home.
PALOS PARK, IL — Palos Park police remind residents that if you drive buzzed celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, it could cost you a pot o’ gold. Police will be out in force looking for impaired and distracted drivers, along with seat belt scofflaws. St. Patrick's Day falls on Wednesday, March 17.
Palos Park officers are joining other state and local law enforcement partner’s in Illinois’s St. Patrick’s Day campaign. The campaign features high-visibility enforcement combined with officers conducting special patrols this St. Patrick’s Day holiday to crack down on drunk drivers. If you are in Palos Park, have been drinking and have no ride home, officers will get you home safely, just call 708-448-2191 or 708-259-1035. Police will bring you home, not to another bar or party, no questions asked and without lectures.
“We are reminding everyone this weekend to Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket,” Police Commissioner Dan Polk said. “If you plan on drinking alcohol, designate a sober driver before the party begins. Be responsible or risk a DUI. St. Patrick’s Day can be a deadly and dangerous time on our roadways because of drunk driving,”
