Palos Park Police Hike DUI Patrols For July 4th Weekend
Palos Park police will be monitoring area roadways for impaired and distracted drivers over the long Fourth of July weekend.
PALOS PARK, IL — With the long Fourth of July weekend approaching, more people will venturing out to visit family and friends after a year of separation due to COVID-19, Palos Park police will be adding extra patrols on the roadways,
The iconic American holiday is also one of the deadliest holidays of the year due to impaired-driving crashes. Officers will be focusing on the “Fatal 4” traffic violation, which include driving under the influence, speeding, distracted or aggressive driving.
“Our advice is simple, be safe, be smart, take your time, don’t drink and drive, wear your seat belts,” said Chief Joe Miller, of the Palos Park Police Department. “Needless to say, one of our biggest concern for the July 4th holiday weekend is impaired drivers and accidents.”
