Orland Park Woman Killed in Head-on Collision in Palos Park

The crash took place Thursday night on 123rd Street.

PALOS PARK, IL — Palos Park police are investigating a head-on collision that killed an Orland Park woman Thursday night.

Police were called just after 9 p.m. to reports of a head-on collision involing two cars between Wolf and Will-Cook roads. Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles.

A 55-year-old woman with a last known address in Orland Park was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, a 32-year-old male from Hickory Hills, is in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, said Police Chief Joe Miller.

Police investigated the accident throughout the night and a team of officers have been trying to locate some of the victim’s family members or next of kin. 123rd street was closed for five hours as investigators and evidence technicians worked the scene.
