Palos Park Police Officers Star in New Children's Book

"A Visit to the Police Station", which features Palos Park officers, will teach young children about police and their many important duties.

PALOS PARK, IL -- Last fall, the Palos Park Police Department worked with Norwood House Press to assist with the creation of a short non-fiction children's book titled "A Visit to the Police Station". The 32-page book aims to show young readers how a police department operates on a normal basis.

Throughout the book, photos and simple text will introduce various aspects of the police station emphasizing the concepts of:

• Police officers are our friends

Norwood House Press commended Palos Park Police Department staff members Commander John Sawyer, Sergeant Chris Hughes, Officers Danielle Scaccia, Bob Kotisanis, John Winter, Diana Campbell, Ray Sabo, and Ryan McNulty for their assistance with the creation of "A Visit to the Police Station".

Palos Park Mayor John Mahoney noted, "Children all over the country will learn about police officers, the police stations workings and the role police play in our free society from some great examples, our Palos Park officers."
