Q: When Will We Warm Up? Hour-by-Hour Temperatures

As the snow flies today, we begin a reprieve from the biting cold of the last few days.

We have a 20 percent chance of snow into the evening, with winds up to 15 miles per hour.

The last few days have been bitterly cold, with wind chills well below zero. One young man discovered the hard way the necessity of bundling up in this cold weather. On Sunday, he rode his bike about 12 miles from south suburban Alsip to Chicago Ridge — without gloves.

Now his hands are frostbitten and Loyola University Medical Center doctors are working to avoid amputating his swollen, peeling fingers.
