Resident Falls Victim To Toll-Free Phone Lookup Scam: REPORT

PALOS HILLS, IL — A Palos Hills woman discovered money missing from her bank account when she attempted to make a transaction with Amazon, reports said.

The woman explained to police that she used Google to find a toll-free number for Amazon. When she called the number, the person who answered asked for her account information. Later, the woman discovered that $498 had been withdrawn from her account.
