Resident Tricked Into Giving PayPal Account Information
Police said PayPal account information was used to withdraw $1,000 from a resident's bank account.
PALOS HILLS, IL — A Palos Hills resident unwittingly gave their PayPal account information to a stranger that was used to withdraw money from their bank account, reports said.
Police went to a home in the 11200 block of Cottonwood Drive for a deceptive practice complaint on Dec. 4. The resident told police they were contacted by someone stating that their PayPal information needed to be updated. The resident later learned that $1,000 have been withdrawn from their bank account.
Police ask residents to report any suspicious mail, phone calls or other activity to the Palos Hills Police Department by calling 911 or the non-emergency number at 708-598-2151.
