Skip The Mall And Shop Small At 'Holidays In The Heights'

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- Skip the mall and shop small at Holidays in the Heights Merchants Weekend hosted by the City of Palos Heights. Stroll through the Kris Kringle Market and stick around around for Santa and the official tree lighting. Holidays in the Heights runs from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1; and 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Municipal Lot on Harlem Avenue (12217 S. Harlem Ave.). A free holiday express bus is available to shuttle shoppers to retail areas.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, the Palos Heights Public Library will be hosting a Christmastime Celebration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Trinity Christian College will present a Christmastide Concert at Ozinga Chapel from 4 to 5:40 p.m. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.
