Tree Falls On 135th Street During Overnight Storm
Damage from overnight storm included a tree collapsing on a main thoroughfare in Palos Heights.
PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- The overnight thunderstorm that hit Chicago's south suburbs Friday night into Saturday morning resulted in some damage, including one incident in which a large tree fell down on a main road that borders Palos Heights and Orland Park.
The tree went down around 2:25 a.m. in the 7700 block of 135th Street in Palos Heights, according to Todd Sherman of Northern Illinois Fireground Photos. The damage, which blocked nearly half the road, resulted in a temporary closure of the eastbound lanes of 135th.
A vehicle struck the tree after it fell but there were no injuries to the driver, Sherman said.
