PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- Trinity Christian College will present the epic tale “The Old Man and The Old Moon” for the next two weekends in the college’s Marge Kalleymeyn Theatre, Art and Communications Center April 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 and 14. Doors open at 7 p.m.; performances are at 7:30 p.m.
Trinity is one of the first groups to produce and perform this piece, aside from PigPen Theatre Co., which originated the show. “The Old Man and The Old Moon” tells the story of an old man who must abandon his duties of filling up the moon with liquid light to cross the seas in search of his missing wife. The audience is taken on an “imaginative sea-faring epic, encompassing apocalyptic storms, civil wars, leviathans of the deep, and cantankerous ghosts, as well as the fiercest obstacle of all: change,” according to BroadwayLicensing.
The 100-minute show incorporates wild theatrical storytelling. There is no intermission. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for students. Purchase them online via EventBrite; by email at box.office@trnty.edu; by phone at 708-293-4537; or at the door. The Marge Kalleymeyn Theatre is located in the campus communications center at 6601 W. College Dr., Palos Heights.
