Whole Health Mama Pediatrics Opens in Palos Heights

Whole Health Mama Pediatrics, a new pediatric clinic focusing on traditional and natural treatments, will open on July 2, 2018 in Palos Heights. The clinic, founded by Nicole Mozden, M.D., F.A.A.P.of Orland Park, has a forward thinking practice structure utilizing homeopathy, vitamins, supplements and nutrition, combined with western medicine, to provide children with high-quality, well-rounded care.

Dr. Mozden is a conventionally trained pediatrician who graduated from Rush Medical College in 2003 and completed her pediatric residency from Loyola Hospital in 2006. Over the past 11 years she has seen more chronic conditions including asthma, allergies, autism, and attention deficit disorder. She attributes many of these conditions to the foods we eat and toxins in the environment.

“My goal at Whole Health Mama is to take a child-centric approach to health care. I address the root cause of medical problems instead of relying solely on pharmaceutical drugs as a band-aid for symptoms”, Dr. Nicole said. She also states “There are definitely times where pharmaceutical medications are needed, but more often than not, a simple change of diet or lifestyle can alleviate chronic conditions”.

Dr. Mozden has always believed in and promoted a healthy and active lifestyle, but her practice also stems from her own personal experience. The doctor’s daughter had thyroid auto-antibodies and elevated cholesterol at age 11, despite eating an organic diet and being physically active. With the implementation of a gluten-free and dairy-free diet along with nutritional supplements, the auto-antibodies have resolved and her daughter’s blood work greatly improved.

By looking beyond traditional medicine, Dr. Mozden has been able to identify the underlying cause of symptoms, instead of masking them. She has successfully approached medicine using integrated practices for over a decade and is looking forward to bringing her holistic approach to the southwest suburban community.
