Women Accused Of Filling Cart In Store With Stolen Merchandise
The two women were captured on video filling a cart with liquor, laundry soap and tobacco products at Walgreens, Palos Heights police said.
PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Two women are accused of retail theft, where police said they were captured on video pilfering merchandise at a Walgreen’s, Palos Heights. Tiwanna Craig, 40, of Markham, and her 50-year-old friend, Ebony Hughes, have each been charged with misdemeanor retail theft.
Around 2:30 p.m., June 5, Palos Heights police were called to the Walgreens at 126th Street and Ridgeland Avenue. Officers viewed video of two women, later identified as Craig and Hughes, filling a cart with liquor, laundry soap and tobacco products, police said.
Investigators were able to identify Craig as a possible suspect. Craig was interviewed in her home, where police said she admitted to the thefts. Craig was charged June 11 and released on bond.

Hughes was also interviewed at home, where she is alleged to have made admissions to taking merchandise from Walgreens. Hughes was charged June 17 and posted bond. Both are scheduled to appear at the Bridgeview Courthouse at a future date.
