Women Targeted in Carjacking and Kidnapping Attempts
Police urge women to be vigilant after three incidents in Palos Hills and Hickory Hills.
HICKORY HILLS, IL — Hickory Hills police are urging women to be alert in open public spaces—specifically parking lots—following an attempted carjacking and an aggravated kidnapping Tuesday evening.
The incidents reportedly happened within minutes of each other in a parking lot near 95th and Roberts Road, police said in an alert issued to a nearby school district.
Police believe the incidents were committed by one man, the same man Palos Hills police are seeking in connection to a sexual assault that took place Friday near an apartment complex in the 8500 block of W. 103rd Street. In that encounter, the suspect accosted a woman near her car and forced her at gunpoint to drive to another place, where he then sexually assaulted her.
