Advocate Lutheran General Hospital Named Among Best in Illinois

Recognized for delivering exceptional patient care, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital has been recognized among the finest in Chicago and Illinois, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2018-2019 Best Hospitals list. Lutheran General tied for tenth in Illinois and tied for ninth in the Chicago Metro Area.

Lutheran General was also recognized as high performing in six medical specialties: Cancer, Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Geriatrics, Orthopedics, Pulmonology and Urology in addition to four common adult procedures: Heart Failure, Colon Cancer Surgery, Hip Replacement and Knee Replacement. “We are incredibly proud to be ranked among the best hospitals in Illinois and the Chicago area for the services and care we provide,” said Terika Richardson, president of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. “This honor recognizes our physicians, clinicians and team members continued commitment to excellence in patient safety and health outcomes and further illustrates their dedication to the communities we are so proud to serve.”In all, U.S. News & World Report honored 10 Advocate hospitals with recognition this year: Advocate Children’s Hospital, Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn; Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove; Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin; Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. Of those, nine hospitals are distinguished as Best Regional Hospitals and two – Advocate Children’s and Advocate Good Samaritan – rank nationally.
