Cab Driver Attacked, Bilked

Attempted theft

Unknown offender(s) attempted to remove a copper downspout from a building in the 400 block of Touhy but were unsuccessful.

A cab driver was attacked by two men after they ditched their fare in the 300 block of Touhy on March 29 around 12:40 a.m. The first offender was described as a white male, about 24 years of age, 5-foot-8, tall, black hair, tattoos on arms and wearing a white shirt. The second suspect was described as a white male, about 24 years of age, tall, brown hair and wearing a red shirt, police said.

The taxi driver was slapped in the face and grabbed by the hair, the report stated.

Garage burglary

A bicycle was reported stolen from a garage in the 700 block of Courtland on March 30.

Theft from auto

A GPS device and cash was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Chester on March 31.

A backpack, shoes, checkbook and football gloves were reported stolen from an SUV parked in the 200 block of Prospect on March 31.

A laptop was reported stolen from a car parked in the 300 block of Prospect on March 31.

A GPS device and sunglasses were reported stolen from an SUV parked in the 1400 block of Arthur on March 24.

Vehicle vandalism

A car parked in the 1300 block of Peterson had its rear window smashed out by an unknown offender(s) on April 2.

Stolen swipe pad

An unknown person removed a credit card swipe pad from a business in the 100 block of Northwest Highway on March 29.
