Cops: Citizens Help Catch Purse Snatcher in Park Ridge
An 18-year-old Prospect Heights man was charged with attempted robbery on Jan. 17. The offender attempted to steal a woman's purse, police said.

Nikolas R. Tselikis, 18, of Prospect Heights, was charged with attempted robbery, the Park Ridge Police Department announced today.
Tselikis attempted to steal a woman's purse by force in the 900 block of W. Higgins Road on Jan. 17 around 12:45 p.m., police said.

The suspect and the victim fell to the ground during a struggle for the purse, according to police. A passerby approached the two in an effort to assist the victim at which time the suspect fled the area on foot.
Meanwhile, a second passerby witnessed the altercation as he was driving and stopped his vehicle to pursue the suspect on foot and over a fence, police said. While the assisting citizen was unable to catch the offender, he was able to get a description as well as the subject's license plate number.

With that information in hand, Park Ridge detectives located Tselikis at his home in the 800 block of E. Old Willow Road in Prospect Heights.
Tselikis was ultimately charged with attempted robbery, a class 3 felony.
