Des Plaines Woman Dies In Crash With Truck On Touhy: Police

Her Kia crossed over the center line and struck a Mack truck Monday morning, police said.

PARK RIDGE, IL — A 49-year-old Des Plaines woman died following a crash with a semi truck Monday morning, police said. Just before 10 a.m., the woman's white 2016 Kia was heading eastbound on Touhy Avenue when it crossed over the center lanes and struck a 2000 Mack Truck, according to police.

The Kia then entered the eastbound lanes again and was struck by a 2011 Chevy. Police secured the area and Park Ridge firefighters extricated the woman from the car. She was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and pronounced dead, according to police.

The woman's identity was not immediately available.

The other drivers' injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, which closed traffic on Touhy between Greenwood and Cumberland for much of the day Monday.
