Electronics Recycling Offered by SWANCC

Are you looking for a place to recycle old electronics?

The Electronics Products Recycling and Reuse Act does not allow people to throw away TVs, computer monitors and other types of electronics.

However, the nonprofit Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County has two permanent locations for electronics recycling:

  • Glenview Transfer Station, 1151 N. River Road. Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Winnetka Public Works, 1390 Willow Road. Tuesdays 10 a.m. to noon and Thursdays 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The drop-off sites are closed during holidays and available only to SWANCC's member communities which include Arlington Heights, Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Glenview, Niles, Morton Grove, Park Ridge, Palatine, Skokie, Winnetka and Wilmette.
