She holds a degree in the discipline, and she taught the artform for about nine years. Cook's biggest musical venture, however, came 21 years ago when she started her own music-based business in Palatine, <a href="http://the-music-room.net/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The Music Room</a>. Since then, she's seen her music store, which features instruments, sheet music, accessories, instruction and more, grow from its original 2,000-square-foot storefront at 49 W. Slade St., to its current, bigger location a half-block away at 26 N.
