Alexander has a unique perspective on the game of football. See what he has to say about it.
Have you ever been at a point in your life where something consumed every thought of every day? The game of football did this for me.
I was once lucky enough to be able to play at every level besides professional. I played flag, house, travel, varsity and eventually at the collegiate level for the Badgers in the Big Ten. I’ve also coached for the Park Ridge Falcons travel program.
Today, when I’m asked to describe my experience playing varsity football for a dynasty like Maine South and then at a Big Ten powerhouse like Wisconsin, there is one word I use to describe it: PASSION. American football is a passionate game that is played, coached and watched by passionate people.

I “caught” the passion during my first game of flag football as a kid. The quarterback threw me the ball and after the catch I turned around to see nothing but green grass ahead of me. I remember hearing only the wind as I ran towards the end zone to score what would be my first touchdown. When I turned around, I finally heard screaming and saw my teammates running towards me with big smiles. I instantly wanted to do it again.
As I look back, I still want to do it again but don’t have the chance. So don’t miss your chance to make lifelong memories, get into this wonderful game while you still can. In Park Ridge, we have a wonderful organization. Check it out.
