Maine South Placed On Brief Lockdown Friday Morning
Maine South High School in Park Ridge was briefly locked down as police investigated a possible weapon situation off campus.

PARK RIDGE, IL - Maine South High School in Park Ridge was placed on a brief soft lockdown Friday morning due to what police have called a possible weapon situation off campus. The school was on lockdown from 7:48 a.m. until 8:25 a.m., police said in a local Nixle alert. It was called after anonymous information was relayed to the police department.
The lockdown was called as a precaution and was lifted after police received more information about the situation. Details regarding the situation weren't immediately available.
Park Ridge police were still on campus as of 9 a.m. working with school officials.
