Mascot for Carpenter Elementary in Park Ridge reported stolen

The statue disappeared over the weekend

A 40- to 50-pound red cougar statue was reportedly taken from Carpenter Elementary School over the weekend, according to the Park Ridge Herald-Advocate. The statue had only been outside next to the school's sign for a month, according to principal Brett Balduf.

"I would just like it to be returned so we can have our school mascot back and so we won't have disappointed children in our school," Balduf told the Herald-Advocate.
