New Baby Penguin at the Shedd Aquarium
Awwww. Check out this video of exam time for the fuzzy little rockhopper penguin.
Check out this adorable little guy. Or gal. We won’t know for a full year whether the new rockhopper penguin chick born this month at the Shedd Aquarium is a male or female.
Even so, the chick will be fully grown in about three months, according to the Shedd. The chick was hatched on June 9. There are more than 30 rockhopper penguins at Shedd. Edward and Annie are the parents of the new chick. The chick is living in the Polar Play Zone in a nest made by its parents.
“The chick, to be named at a later date, weighed 57 grams at birth and came in at 200 grams at a recent weigh-in,” according to a Shedd blog post published June 25.
