Burglary fail
Police responded to a burglary in the 900 block of Knight on Feb. 14. According to the report, the offender(s) attempted to pry open a door but were unsuccessful.
Stolen jewelry in home burglary

Police responded to a burglary in the 1600 block of Touhy Avenue on Feb. 9. According to the report, several pieces of jewelry were missing from the home.

A home in the 100 block of S. Delphia was reported burglarized on Feb. 14. According to the report, the offender(s) used brute force to gain entry. Once inside, the culprit(s) removed several pieces of jewelry.
Ruse burglary
A woman reported several pieces of jewelry missing from her home after letting someone posing as a water department inspector into her home in the 1000 block of Harrison on Feb. 13. The homeowner would later realize that another person entered her home and that several pieces of jewelry were missing from her bedroom, the report stated.
Stolen keys
A set of keys were reported missing from a car parked in the 1000 block of Peterson on Feb. 12.
Theft from auto
A wallet was reported stolen from a car parked in the 1700 block of S. Prospect on Fe. 12.

Several baseball bats and a batting helmet were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of S. Prospect on Fe. 12.

A GPS device was reported stolen from a car parked in the 300 block of N Aldine Street on Feb. 12. The offender made entry by smashing out the driver’s side window, the report said.

Stolen cell phone
A man reported his cell phone stolen in the 1100 block of Dee Road on Feb. 7.
Stolen package
A man reported that a package he was expecting from UPS was stolen from his doorstep in the 1600 block of Courtland on Feb. 21.
Thefts at hospital
Two different people reported their wallets stolen from a hospital in the 1700 block of W. Dempster Street on Feb. 10 and Jan. 11.
