Park Ridge Irish Dancer Wins National Championships

Ronan Donahue of the Dillon-Gavin School of Irish Dance in Des Plaines took home the national title for the Boys U13 division.

The Dillon-Gavin School of Irish Dance in Des Plaines is home to several world-qualifying dancers, including one from Park Ridge, the Daily Herald reports.

The school sent several dancers to the North American Irish Dance Championships this year and the following four qualified for Worlds: 

  • Ronan Donahue, 13, Park Ridge: Boys U13 National Champion
  • Patrick Holbrook, 12, Niles, Boys U13, 5th place
  • Kristjan Gudmunsen, 12, Niles, Boys U12, 4th place
  • Claudia Morrison, 10, Des Plaines, Girls U11, 11th place 

The 2014 World Championships will be held in London next April.
