Park Ridge Library Celebrates its First 100 Years

When the original Park Ridge library moved from across the street into its current location, who do you think carried all the books over? (Hint: it wasn't the grown ups). This fact is just one part of the 100th anniversary celebration at the library.

The history of the Park Ridge Public Library is so rich and detailed that the library is sharing its story in sections. Currently, the Second Floor Display Case is filled with images and memorabilia as part of the 100th Anniversary Display: The Library From 1930 -- 1958.

Library Director Janet Van De Carr recently gave Patch an overview of the 100th anniversary, and upcoming special events to celebrate this important milestone.

The library will host special programs, an ongoing blog of stories, an online scrapbook and a huge birthday party this December. Visit Park Ridge Patch for updates or the Park Ridge Public Library website at www.parkridgelibrary.org.
