Police Chief Wants Park Ridge Cop Fired
Police Chief Frank Kaminski says Commander Jason Leavitt was not completely truthful in his version of events from a 2006 case.

PARK RIDGE, IL - A Park Ridge police officer has been placed on home administrative leave and could be fired for an incident that took place more than a decade ago. Police Chief Frank Kaminski told members of the Park Ridge City Council last week that he is requesting Commander Jason Leavitt be fired, according to a report from the Journal & Topics.
Leavitt was acquitted of charges of aggravated battery and official misconduct last year in connection with an Oct. 28, 2006 incident in which he is alleged to have used force against two teenage boys who were allegedly using a sling shot to damage car windows including his own. But an external investigation brought forth by Kaminski indicated that Leavitt was not completely truthful in his account of the day, Kaminski told Council members.

The chief said his decision to recommend Leavitt's firing is partly due to not abiding by his responsibility to record all the facts, including “willful omission and deception."
