Local students named to Bradley University's spring 2021 dean's list
More than 1800 students were named to Bradley's Dean's List for Spring 2021. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester on a 4.0 scale. Local students include:

Kelly Biggs graduates from Carthage College

Kelly Biggs, of Romeoville, graduated from Carthage College in spring 2021. With a few safety-driven modifications, Carthage gave the Class of 2021 a one-of-a-kind sendoff that preserved as much of the traditional graduation celebration as possible. President John Swallow noted the bond he'll always share with this class. Most of them arrived at Carthage shortly after he did in 2017.

Student from Romeoville is completing an internship at Camp Green Cove
Lauren Kamibayashiyama, a senior educational studies major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with Camp Green Cove in Zirconia, North Carolina.
Founded in 1945, Camp Green Cove serves girls ages 6 - 17. The camp offers unique, noncompetitive experiences which focus on a variety of outdoor activities.
A resident of Romeoville, Kamibayashiyama works as a camp counselor and nature guide. She is also conducting observational research for a project about the effect of nature and camp life on youth's mental health.
"I have had so much personal growth while here and have made many valuable connections with individuals that I have met," Kamibayashiyama said. "I chose Green Cove because it is nothing that I am used to and have experienced before, but it is similar to the setting of my future profession which makes this opportunity exceptionally valuable to me."

Romeoville students graduate from Elmhurst College
Over two warm and sunny days, Elmhurst University graduates of the Class of 2021 took part in a series of on-campus, in-person Commencement ceremonies. A ceremony for graduate students was held on Friday, May 21, and three ceremonies were held on Saturday, May 22 for undergraduate students.
This year's ceremonies marked the start of the University's sesquicentennial celebration and is the first commencement since the institution's name change. The Class of 2021 was also joined by the Class of 2020, whose ceremonies were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The following local students earned degrees:
Laura Ayala, of Romeoville (60446), graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Brooke Janeczek, of Homer Glen (60491), graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Joshua Lawson, of Romeoville (60446), graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy.
Tessa Sellentin, of Romeoville (60446), graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Political Science.
Elizabeth Walaszczyk, of Homer Glen (60491), graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Rebecah Wyland, of Romeoville (60446), graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Katherine Pacetti, of Homer Glen (60491), graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Psychology.

Local student named to spring 2021 dean's list at University of Findlay
Dana Taylor, of Romeoville, was named to the spring 2021 dean's list at the University of Findlay. To earn this achievement, a student must attain a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
