School Closings, Activity Cancellations Due To Snow: List
Several inches of snow is expected to hit the area and complicate Monday's evening commute.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — With a winter weather advisory in effect until midnight and 2 to 5 inches of snow in the forecast for much of northern Illinois, some area schools and religious education programs are cancelled or closing early. Winter weather is slated to hit mid- to late afternoon Monday, with the National Weather Service warning of slippery road conditions.
Expect a slow and snowy evening commute, and be prepared for sharply reduced visibility if you have to be on the road. Drivers should use extreme caution.
The Illinois Tollway said it is mobilizing its full fleet of 196 snowplows in response to the predicted snowfall and is prepared to handle the rush-hour snowstorm.

Several Inches Of Snow Monday, More Snowstorms Throughout The Week
“We will have full crews out clearing the roads to help our customers safely complete their evening commutes and return to their homes,” said Illinois Tollway Executive Director Greg Bedalov. “Drivers can help us protect them by slowing down and allowing themselves additional time to reach their destinations. We’re also reminding drivers to increase their interval between other vehicles and to give our plows the room they need to safely do their work.”
