February 21: Joliet Montessori School Live Open House

Joliet Montessori School is hosting a live Open House for area families on Sunday, February 21, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the school, located at 1600 Root Street in Crest Hill. Those interested in attending must register here by selecting “Book a Tour” at the top of the page.

Heidi Geiger, JMS Head of School, will personally conduct the open house, where visitors will be able to safely tour the facilities, learn about the Montessori method of education and its unique materials, and ask any questions about the school’s toddler, primary, elementary and adolescent programs.

JMS has been able to maintain full-time, in-person instruction

While most area schools have offered in-person learning only part time—if at all—during the 2020-21 school year, JMS was able to open on time last August and has been able to maintain a normal, full-time, in-person schedule since then.

Heidi points to the school’s detailed reopening plan as the roadmap that led JMS families back to the welcome normality of school life, even if it included new precautions and practices to keep everyone safe.

“Being a small, close-knit community of families, we were able to communicate expectations, hear concerns and draft a smart, workable plan to safely reopen for full-time live instruction by following all state and federal guidelines to keep everyone safe. Now, seeing how happy the children are to be learning with their friends—that just makes it all so worthwhile.”
