Halloween Safety Tips From RPD: Don't Climb In The Sewer

Trick-or-treating safety tips from the Romeoville Police Department plus trick-or-treating hours.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — "Don't climb into the sewers," Cmdr. Fetzer said at the end of a Halloween safety video the Romeoville Police Department made for the community. While they had a bit of fun with a few "It" references in the video, police are serious when it comes to following some safety tips for trick-or-treating.

The light-hearted video centers around a young girl who's demonstrating the right, and wrong, things to do. "Avoid wearing masks that cover your eyes," Cmdr. Fetzer says as the video shows a little ghost walking into a light pole.

The girl, now wearing a costume which allows her to see, mindlessly followed a red balloon into the road before stopping short to avoid being hit by an oncoming car. "Pay attention when crossing the street," Fetzer said.
